Class of '58,  Greetings.  At the last mini-reunion there was a request for a cruise to be offered to our class for the year 2011.

Our classmate, Linda (Mishkind) Schiesel, is a travel agent with Bon Voyage Travel in Tucson, AZ.  She was asked to research possible cruises.  A primary survey was taken and the result was that a large majority of the people were interested in a cruise to Alaska on June 10, 2011.  The information below may change slightly by the time we make our reservations, but it will give you a guideline to the cabin prices, at this time, with Celebrity Cruise Line.

Please read over the information below very carefully.  The prices are for double occupancy.  There are several "singles" who have expressed an interest in going and I'm sure Linda can help put some classmates together for the double occupancy price.  There is also a government tax to be added to the prices we will pay.  Linda can explain all that in a later email to those who are planning on making reservations.

Our first order of business is for me to send this email to everyone.  I am even including those few who said they were not interested or available to travel at that time.  I wanted the class, as a whole, to know the decision of which cruise and when.  After I hear from those of you, (yes, please email me one more time even if you responded to the preliminary survey), who want to go or want to consider going, Linda will then set up a group with the cruise line.

I would like to make the names and email addresses "visible" to those who are inclined to make the trip so that some of you can correspond directly with others.  If you object to having your e-address visible to the classmates who might be traveling together, (instead of the usual "Bcc"), please tell me now.

As you respond this time, select the cabin you "think" you might want (with no obligation to you to keep that choice) and also tell me if you are: 1. Pretty certain of going, or 2. Interested but uncertain.

Once I have those numbers, Linda will start the process of blocking out the quantity of cabins for our group.  This can be done before any money is owed.  She will eventually let everyone know when a deposit will be due, etc.

Each person/couple can make their own airline reservations to Seattle, or Linda can make those for you.  She will explain the differences to those of you interested in doing a "pkg. deal" to include the air add-on with the cruise line.

Thanks for your patience with us in planning and preparing this event.

Warm CHS regards,  Fran Knowles

Suzanne Rowe Van Ort, Ph.D. (CHS Class of '58) was selected the 2009 Alumna of the Year by the CHS Foundation... more info!

Have you had any changes in your name (ladies), mailing address, phone number, or e-mail address?  Send it to Fran today.  It is much appreciated when you remember to keep us up-dated.

For those of you interested in our web site, Jack Wojnowski has a link to a page that has stories about some of our teachers.  There are links under some of them to articles in the newpaper.  Very interesting stuff.  Remember Bill Duffen?  Jack Segurson?  Lester Wood?  Mary Hines?  Read about them on this page:  http://chs1958.com/hines.htm

The humble webmaster is still waiting for a recording of the fight song and school song by the band.  MP3 or WAV would be appreciated by all.

On October 27  several of us attended the CHS 50th for dinner and football game.  People who attended CHS for certain years were called out on to the field at half time.  Our once over 100 member CHS marching band has been reduced to 30 members-- having been a band member-- I was very disappointed to see this. Pat Young (58).
The tailgate party will begin at 5:30 p.m and conclude at 6:45 p.m. just in time for the game to begin at Nicholson Stadium against Catalina Foothills.
